| "[The works exhibited] have been collected from many parts of the world, but in view of the political situation the organisers have refrained from consulting the artists themselves. In no case has an artist still living in Germany been asked to participate in the Exhibition: they are represented by works from private collections outside Germany without the artist's knowledge or consent."-- Introduction. Max Stern would have viewed this exhibition in London of modern German art showing works by both expatriate and refugee artists as well as the artists living in Germany. There is no indication that it was a sale or auction.
