Description: Gwendolyn Francis (aged about ten years), daughter of Marian Francis, William Osler's first cousin. The Francis family lived in Montreal, as did Marian's sister, Jennette Osler, and during William Osler's time in that city he was a frequent visitor to their home. Gwen, along with her siblings Beatrice and William, was said to be one of Osler's especial favourites, though he was fond of all of Marian's children.
