Description: William Willoughby Francis, about seven years old, and Britton Bath Osler Francis, about nine; both were sons of Marian Francis, William Osler's first cousin. Osler was close to Marian and her sister Jennette Osler, and was especially fond of Marian's children. He took an active interest in them throughout their lives. W. W. Francis, Osler's godson, eventually became a doctor like his famous cousin; after Osler's death he compiled a catalogue of Osler's books, and became the first Osler librarian.
