Description: Back of a photo of William Osler and the Whitelocke twins, identical daughters of his neighbour R.H.A. Whitelocke, an Oxford surgeon. Taken in 1905 or 1906 at 7 Norham Gardens.
Notes: Osler and the Whitelocke twins, at 7 Norham Gardens in 1905 or '6. Found Jan 1939 in a reprint that belonged to Lady O. in the Osler Library. W.W.F. Mary and Nora (now Mrs. Abernethy and Mrs. Myers) identical daughters of the late R.H.A. Whitelocke (& sisters of Hugh) Oxford surgeons. They both have a small white lock of hair ( not visible here) which apparently gave the family its name and which comes cut in every 2nd or 3rd generation. Their 2 bros. & 1 sister hadn't it, nor their father or his generation (transcribed from back of photo)
