Description: A group of American physicians at the tomb of the great French physician Pierre-Charles-Alexandre Louis. William Osler, who can be seen slightly to the left of centre of the group, organized the outing, and the laying of a wreath, while attending a conference on tuberculosis in Paris. At the time this photo was taken Osler had recently taken the position of Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University. Also in the group are Arnold C. Klebs, like Osler an avid collector of medical books, and Henry Barton Jacobs, a former student of Osler's at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his former neighbour in Baltimore.
