Description: William Osler (at centre, in top hat) with a group of American physicians at the tomb of the famous French physician, Pierre-Charles-Alexandre Louis. Behind them you can see a wreath which the group placed at the tomb. Osler organized this outing while in Paris at a convention on tuberculosis. At the time this photo was taken Osler had recently taken the position of Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University. Also in the group are Arnold C. Klebs, like Osler an avid collector of medical books, and Henry Barton Jacobs, a former student of Osler's at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his former neighbour in Baltimore.
