Description: William Osler at the tomb of Pierre-Charles-Alexandre Louis, the great French physician, in Montparnasse, Paris, France. Osler organized an outing of American physicians to visit the tomb while attending a conference on tuberculosis in Paris; he also organized the laying of a wreath at the tomb. At the time this photo was taken Osler had recently taken the position of Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University.
