Description: William Osler with colleagues at the tomb of Pierre-Charles-Alexandre Louis in Paris. Osler was in Paris attending a tuberculosis conference; he had taken the position of Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University less than a year previously. Osler organized this pilgrimage by fifteen Americans to the tomb of the famous French physician. Also in the group are Arnold C. Klebs, like Osler an avid collector of medical books, and Henry Barton Jacobs, a former student of Osler's at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his former neighbour in Baltimore.
