Description: William Osler with Johns Hopkins Hospital's first group of interns, in April of 1889. After much anticipation, the hospital opened its doors to the public in May. Osler acted as physician-in-chief at the hospital, which was intended as a centre for medical education and research as well as treatment. H.A. Lafleur, Resident Physician, and J.A. Scott and Harry Toulmin, Assistant Residents, are also shown in this photo.
