Description: A photo of William Osler in his library-consulting room at 1 West Franklin Street in Baltimore, taken by the painter Thomas Cromwell Corner, in preparation for Corner's portrait of Osler. The portrait was completed during Osler's last days in Baltimore, before his move to England and Oxford University.
Notes: In his library-consulting room at 1 W. Franklin st, Baltimore, taken by Thos. C. Corner, the artist, as a study for his painting of O. in the spring of 1905, & sent to me by him in 1934. W.W.F. He was thoroughly bored by the painters during his last busy (& persecuted) months in Baltimore - hence, perhaps, the strangely aggressive appearance! (transcribed from back of photo)
