Description: A portrait of Thomas Clarkson McConkey taken in London, England. McConkey was a classmate of William Osler's at the Barrie Grammar School, which Osler attended from 1864-1866, and lived with Osler and a number of their friends on Lower St. Urbain Street in Montreal while Osler was in medical school at McGill. Harvey Cushing states that the two were "particularly intimate friends" ("The Life of Sir William Osler" (1925), vol. 1, p. 72).
