Description: A portrait of Thomas Clarkson McConkey and Charles F. A. Locke, both of whom were classmates of William Osler at the Barrie Grammar School, where Osler was a student from 1864-1866. Osler and Locke, along with Edward F. Milburn, another Barrie student, were known as "Barrie's Bad Boys" for the pranks they frequently played as students there (see Cushing's "Life of Sir William Osler" (1925), vol.1, p. 24). Locke and McConkey later moved to Montreal and lived near Osler during his student days there.
