MFTP #0012 & privations they had to undergo[.] This Sir is all I am allowed to impart at present[.] As the Officers themselves are now however on their return to England and go by the way of Hudsons Bay – you no doubt will have a more ircumstantial & authentic account of all their proceedings in the publications of their Journals, which I understand will be printed Soon after their arrival in England[.] Indeed to confess an honest truth, nothing but the fear of your displeasure could have induced me to address you, at this moment when suffering under a very severe indisposition – from Cold and nervous complaints – on that account I humbly beg you will excuse also from entering on the domestic Concerns of this Country, which will I am persuaded be communicated to you by abler pens & better authority than I can pretend to[.] In conclusion permit me to express my Sincere gratitude for you continued Kindess to me, and a hope that I may not be considered undeserving your future notice[.] In offering my most respectful thanks for Mrs MacKenzies condescension, in honoring me [with] her Compliments, I request leave to present my humble but Sincere[st] wishes for her health & prosperity for the Family – whilst I have the pleasure of Subscribing myself with unfeigned Sentiments of Esteem and Respect[.] Dear Sir Your ever grateful and Most thankful Servant Willd Ferdd Wentzel [83] L E G E N D : |
