Mr LaRocque deriving confidence from these favourable professions of the Great chief was much releived from his anxiety – and he assured the Chief, that he would attend to words and think of him hereafter as of a Father – and would be happy to see him – at our great Fort on the Asseneboine River[.] We then returned to our quarters[.] Still the Indians persisted in plaguing us, but as we were Succesful in our application at Head quarters we had reason to think less of their importunities[.]
