Description:

Bust portrait of Armand-Désiré, the last Duke of Aiguillon, descendent of the Cardinal of Richelieu. Though from the nobility, he joined the Third Estate and stood in favour of the principles of the Revolution, but was eventually accused of speaking against decisions of the Legislative Assembly, and was forced into exile, in Hamburg, where he did.
