| The 19th-century watercolour views of Düsseldorf in this book were originally published as illustrations to Erinnerungen von Düsseldorf und Umgegend (Memories of Düsseldorf and its Surroundings) by Countess von der Schulenburg and shown at the exhibition of the Max Lissauer Collection held at the Kunstmuseum in Düsseldorf, December 1951 - January 1952. Max Stern continued to acquire German publications on his former hometown. This edition is very rare in North America.
