Issued in a limited edition of 300 numbered copies, this is copy no. 9. It includes a biographical sketch and a detailed bibliography of Koetschau's many writings to date. The contributions are by his friends and colleagues, such as the editor Walter Cohen and Paul Clemen, Paul Horn, Rudolf Kautsch, Marie Schuette and Gustav Pauli, who were prominent figures in academic and museum circles. They focus on his special interests, such as art in the Rhineland, Goethe, late medieval art and applied arts, medals, and museology. Koetschau was the director of the Municipal Art Collections in Düsseldorf at this time, and the new museum building housing the collections he had reorganized was to open a month later.
