| Published on the occasion of the 70th birthday of Max Egon Fürst zu Fürstenberg, this work examines the latest findings and research on the Master of Messkirch (1488-1565). It was presented to "Dr. Koetschau" according to the author's ms. inscription. This 16th-century South German painter was the subject of Koetschau's dissertation (Leipzig, 1893), which is quoted in the bibliographical references. The book contains a ms. inscription and spine shelf label: I 309, and the stamp of the Dominion Gallery.
