| This history of architecture in the city of Worms contains a ms. inscription on the front free endpaper that reads: "Privat Julius Stern" (indicating it was in his private collection), and below it a ms. dedication inscription to an unnamed recipient, recalling a wonderful Sunday afternoon, from "die Wormser, Herne" and dated 18 March 1928. The anonymous residents of Worms must be the authors. Herne is a city not far from Düsseldorf. The reproduction of an engraving of the cathedral, Worms - der Dom is laid in.
