This is a typewritten letter from Robert C. Bates, Director of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Mr. Bates informs Dr. Penfield that the research at the Montreal Neurological Institute does not fall within the boundaries of the fund. Therefore, he cannot approve Dr. Penfield’s application. Bates thanks Dr. Penfield for his work and the opportunity to learn about it. The letter is dated November 10, 1959.
