Typewritten letter from Wilder Penfield to Dr. Nolan D.C. Lewis. The letter is part of a formal request of financial assistance on a five-year basis for Penfield and Dr. William Cone in their study of "dementia praecox and an experimental study of the causes of the pathological lesions." He explains tissue culture-hormone research was abandoned because He and Cone did not feel knowledgeable enough to carry it out. Penfield also reports that Dr. Porteous, the Medical Superintendent of the Verdun Protestant Hospital, is eager to collaborate.
