This is a typewritten letter from Charles F. Martin to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Dr. Martin says that he has received an earlier note from Dr. Penfield and has also received a cheque for ten thousand dollars from Mrs. Madeleine Ottmann. He informs Dr. Penfield that he is enclosing both the cheque and a copy of a letter which he had written to Mrs. Ottmann. He also notes that he has instructed the university’s Bursar to use the money to create a fund to which only Dr. Penfield will be allowed access. The letter is dated June 5, 1929.
