This item is a bound notebook with red embossed covers and lined with paper from Fortin and Cie. The pages are numbered 1 to 89. The notebook is inscribed with the words: "W.G. Penfield., American Red Cross Hospital, 6 Rue Piccini, Paris., Peter Bent Bigham Hospital, Boston." The book contains case notes, diagrams, photographs, and drawings of apparatus. There are also a number of inserts that include small diagrams from text sources and other drawings on a variety of media.
