Description:
A black and white photograph of an infant standing or walking on a sidewalk. The infant is identified as a 17 month-old girl named Marian. The child is Marion Merrill Chester, the daughter of William Merrill Chester and Alice (Miller) Chester. Bill Chester, had been Dr. Wilder Penfield’s friend and roommate at Princeton University. Later, one of the the Chesters’ two sons, William Jr., would marry Priscilla Penfield, Dr. Penfield’s youngest daughter. Marian, who was born in 1919, was the Chesters’ first child. This is the fifth photograph of page 97 of the 1919 - 1927 photo album compiled by Wilder Penfield.
