Letter from John Kershman to Wilder Penfield, July 8, 1944.
Date:
1944-07-08
Description:
This is a typewritten letter from John Kershman, Executive Assistant to the Director of the Montreal Neurological Institute, to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Kershman indicates that he had enclosed an analysis of the costs of creating or opening an extension to the Montreal Neurological Institute. For the benefit of the Principal of McGill University, Frank Cyril James, who would presumably eventually see the analysis, Kershman states that he had deliberately included more information regarding the costs than would otherwise be necessary. He explains that his estimates in the analysis are based upon a proposed expansion of one hundred and two beds. He stresses that, regardless of whatever the increase in the number of beds, the MNI would need to obtain or generate increased funds in order to care for the increased number of patients and increased building maintenance costs. The letter is dated July 8, 1944.
