This is a typewritten letter from Edith M. Sheppard, Secretary to the Minister of National Defence, to Wilder Penfield. Sent in reply to a letter Dr. Penfield had sent to the Minister, Sheppard states that the Minister, Douglas Abbott, is absent from the office and will not return until November 10. The letter is dated October 26, 1946.
