Description:
This is a black and white photograph album of the clinical trials of military medical initiatives throughout World War II. In the album, there are a number of staff photos, clinical trials, field and laboratory studies. The topics of the trials and studies include Night Vision, Evacuation of the Wounded, Stretcher Trials, Nutritional Surveys, Motion Sickness, Winter Equipment and Ration Trials and Entomological and Plague Surveys (which include mosquito and rats). Within these photographs, special attention is paid to the movement of the wounded and supplies, as well as nutrition guides from diverse locations in the Commonwealth including India and Canada. This album was intended to act as a draft for a guide to army personnel regarding the basic medical necessities of war. Some of the images were used in the publication of "Medical Research and Development in the Canadian Army during World War II, 1942-1946".
