Description: Cartoon featuring Scottish physicians, by the popular caricaturist John Kay. Image depicts the physician Dr. Glen (died 1786) facing James Robertson of Kincraigie (active 1745-died 1790), known as the 'Daft Highland Laird'. Robertson holds a stick on the top of which is the head of James Graham (1745-1794), the Scottish quack doctor, and the head of Principal Robertson (active 1784), with his arm raised. James Robertson of Kincraigie was a Scottish gentleman who was incarcerated after his involvement in the Rebellion of 1745. He became known for his symptoms of derangement and received the nickname of "Daft Highland Laird". Dr. Glen (d. 1786) was a Scottish Freemason and physician who was famous in his day for his wealth and frugality.
