Description: Ellen Free Pickton Osler, mother of Sir William Osler. Ellen came to Canada from Falmouth, England, in 1837 - shortly after her marriage to Featherstone Lake Osler. The couple settled at Bond Head, Ontario, where Featherstone was an Anglican minister to the large, sparsely settled parish for many years. Ellen eventually bore nine children, eight of whom survived infancy, and lived to be one hundred and one years old. William Osler was Featherstone and Ellen Osler's eighth child.
