Jennette and her sister Marian Osler Bath met their Canadian cousins for the first time when they visited the Oslers' Dundas, Ontario parsonage in 1866 (the sisters later moved to Canada permanently). William was away at school when they first arrived, but once the cousins met Jennette and William got along very well, and maintained a close friendship for the rest of their lives. William Willoughby Francis, the first Osler librarian, was Jennette's nephew, her sister Marian's son by her second marriage.
