Description: A formal portrait of William Osler with his three fellow prefects from Trinity College School (Weston, Ontario), taken in Toronto in 1866 or 1867. Students at the school were largely self-governed by the prefect system, which was modelled after old English institutions such as Eton or Rugby. The three other prefects are unidentified beyond the names inscribed on the photograph.
