Bust portrait of the duc de Berry, ultra-royalist and youngest son of the future Charles X. He was assassinated in 1820 in an attempt to extinguish the Bourbon dynasty. His son, the future Henri, comte de Chambord, was born posthumously seven months later, and was seen as a miracle child by the ultra-royalists.
