Statement by a Union Soldier
A rare 1864 campaign broadside attacking McClellan. The bitterness which marked the campaign of 1864 is evidenced by this broadside which purports to be the signed statement of a Union soldier who had been a prisoner in Richmond, Virginia. He affirmed that the director of the prison hospital offered to parole him if he would vote for McClellan.
