A Little Game of Bagatelle, Between Old Abe the Rail Splitter & Little Mac the Gunboat General. This poster cartoon, A Little Game of Bagatelle, between old Abe and little Mac, was put out by Currier and Ives in September, 1864. It furnishes proof that men could find causes for laughter in a political contest charged with issues so weighty, that their acceptance or rejection was certain to shape, through the long future, the destiny of a nation. Mr. Lincoln, with a cue labelled Baltimore, is depicted winning a game, the progress of which is watched with interest by half a dozen of the men then active and prominentin public affairs.
