SEARCHING THE SITE:

Refining your search: If you are using the "Simple Keyword Search" but are receiving too many results, try using one of the "Advanced Search" fields appropriate to your search subject ('Architect or Firm Name', 'Building Name', or 'Street Name').

No Search Results: If you are having problems getting search results, then you might want to try the Browse Feature of the sight. Or you may try one of the following:

1) Use the "Simple Keyword Search" but try alternate spellings (i.e. "McVicar" instead of "MacVicar").

2) Use the "Simple Keyword Search" but try an abbreviated form of the spelling (i.e. "McG" instead of "McGill").

3) If you are searching by street name, try using French spelling for those streets that have 'Saint' as part of their name (i.e. "St-Laurent" instead of "St. Laurent").

If you are still having problems then please try using the Browse features.

BROWSE FUNCTIONS:

Problems: If you are using the first browse function, "Buildings by Architect" and the architect's page comes up instead of a list of buildings, it means that this architect did not build any of the buildings listed on this website as an individual architect. Instead, you can click of the firm or firms which this architect was associated with to see a list of buildings he helped design.
