Description: Ernest Shepherd and a man with the last name Gordon. (The part of the album page on which Mr. Gordon's first name was written has been lost.) The two men are seated by the mast of a small sailboat at or near Kingston, Ontario. Ernest Shepherd was the son of the Montreal anatomist, surgeon, and McGill medical instructor, Dr. Francis John Shepherd. The Shepherds, who are shown vacationing with Gwendolen Marjorie Howard in several of the collection's photographs, likely knew the Howards through their father, who had taught Dr. Shepherd at McGill.
